Some wounds don’t bleed — they ache for the right hands to touch them.

Alexandra Black has spent her life learning how to survive — by keeping still, keeping quiet, keeping every secret that ever cut too deep. The diner, the night shifts, the exhaustion — it’s all easier than feeling anything real.

Then Grayson Russo walks in — tall, steady, dangerous in the way calm men can be. His gaze lingers too long. His touch asks questions she’s not ready to answer. What starts as curiosity turns into something she can’t name — something raw and consuming, that strips her defenses until there’s nowhere left to hide.

But intimacy has a price. The closer Grayson gets, the more Alexandra’s past claws its way back into the light — the bruises, the silence, the fear of being known. And when desire becomes the one place she feels alive, she has to ask herself: is she falling for him… or losing herself all over again?

Dark, sensual, and achingly human — Out of the Darkness is a story of pain, passion, and the fragile hope that love might be worth surviving for.

Meet the Pen Behind the Mayhem

Casey Saccomano writes emotionally intense stories centered around trauma, healing, resilience, and the complicated journey of finding yourself after surviving the unimaginable. Her work explores themes such as mental health, childhood abuse, breaking generational cycles, and learning how to accept love even after pain.

Her debut novel, Out of the Darkness, was deeply inspired by her emotions during her CPTSD therapy. Through raw storytelling and deeply human characters, Casey hopes her writing helps readers feel seen, understood, and less alone.

When she isn’t writing, Casey spends her time building fictional worlds, connecting with readers online, and working toward her goal of using book profits to help foster children and others in need.

She currently lives in Colorado with her family, where she continues writing stories filled with darkness, hope, and healing.
